Wow, Skrillex has fully embraced the club scene. This album flows like a DJ set—high BPM, sweaty, and blending genres like Trap, House,... Hyperpop, UKG, and Jersey Club.
Take these 4 songs, Momentum (Hip Hop), Booster, G2G (anthemic Hyperpop with that hard-clipping bass), DNB TING(Aggressive DNB song). It takes a lot of glue to make that work, but he fully commits to every genre he dips into. All while still embracing the dubstep sound he's known for. It comes across very sincere and honest. show more
Two Shell is an interesting project. I’ve seen a lot of comparisons to PC Music, and aesthetically, I think that holds true —... they fully embrace being digital. Their website, shell.tech, was recently an interactive listening party page where fans could access tracks via shared passwords. It had more depth and creativity than a typical Discord listening session.
The music itself feels more cynical, sarcastic, and haphazard — like it’s coming from producers or DJs who are deep in the industry and fed up with it. It’s as if nothing matters anymore because the music industry sucks, so they’re just doing whatever they want.
