You never know what you're going to get with a John Cale project. He was the co-founder of the brilliant Velvet Underground, has... worked with Nick Drake, Iggy and the Stooges, Squeeze, Patti Smith and Sham 69. His solo work though, is very experimental, and very hit & miss... IMO mostly missing.
- Paris 1919 is often referred to as his most accessible work... I fear one day I might hear his less accessible work.
- The album is filled with weird orchestrations, terrible vocals and lyrics littered with historical and literary allusions.
- I'm sure some people (mainly journalists) who will gush over this album, but I found it very difficult to get into show more
