Fantastic Negrito is a masterful storyteller. Don’t Be Dead isn’t just a collection of songs, it’s a cohesive narrative that hits harder when experienced as a whole. His stories come from a raw, honest place, reflecting his own journey while tapping into emotions and struggles we can all relate to. This album is a masterpiece, not just for its musicianship (self written and produced) but for the way it invites you into his world. I had the chance to see him live, and his presence was electrifying. I bought the vinyl that night, got it signed, and left feeling like I had just witnessed something truly special. After the show, he took the time to greet everyone, talking with anyone who approached him. That show took place at La Trastienda, an iconic venue in Montevideo that sadly closed its doors last week.
