Shameless plug! I wrote this song while in college after a girl rejected me. At the time we had a very close connection that ignited and died as fast as it started. I was lead on and the experience was so ironic with others around me seeing the connection as genuine and deep, when in reality under the surface there was nothing on the other side. I felt so empty in the stomach the next day and having to interact with this person for weeks after in my class made me feel weightless. I felt like the world around me was moving and I was just floating like a ghost. I couldn't talk to this person and I couldn't express my emotions but to write this song.
