micah: トライガン TRIGUN THE FIRST DONUTS by Tsuneo Imahori

Falling into a strange intersection of jazz, blues, rock and japanese funk, this entire album feels like an exploration into what feels like painting with instruments. Produced as a sountrack for one of my favorite anime series growing up, the songs undoubtedly contrubute to the overall feeling of the show (a cyberpunk gunslinger set on barren planet): but can stand independently on their own as an experimental, organic (but entirely refined) listening experience. Wailing distorted guitar riffs will dance with tight waves of congo drum lines, building and falling into hafltime breakbeats. As people who are first listening to this album without the context of the show, I'd love to hear what you think. Recommendation: start on track #2.
