*This* is what a Christmas record should be. A double-album of folk-inspired (but so much more than that) tunes, a mix of originals and interpretations of well-know and obscure winter-themed traditional songs. Perfectly captures the rural snow-swept North York Moors landscape in which it was recorded. Feels like mulled drinks, roaring fires, and friends gathered whilst winter roars beyond the walls.

That's a fair assessment @bubblebiddy - the first time I listened to it was quite intently, and it was marvellous. The second time it was more background, and it didn't work quite so well. A record to be immersed in, I guess.
I have played this twice. First time not paying full attention as I was busy with other work. It was easy and pleasant, allowing me to go about my tasks uninterrupted. All in all good.
Second time listening intently I noticed the production and musical arrangements were spot on, the voices of the sisters perfectly complimented. I love the northeast accent.
It is a very good, relaxing album with moments of darkness reflecting the winter season.
The only criticism I could level is the lack of one or two up tempo, lively, fun songs/instrumentals to counterbalance the mood. 7/10
@bubblebiddy - I'm feeling the pressure now! Hope you enjoy it - looking forward to hearing the report back.
Wow, you sold me this.
I'm going to have to try it now!
I'll report back.
