I don't have much more to say about this album since the last review except that I now have complicated feelings about the... radio edit of Fake Happy where they lob off the intro that I would argue is Important To The Whole Thing™. Also saying out loud that Idle Worship into No Friend goes crazy (always has but more people need to be saying this). show more

Play this for a Paramore fan in 2007 and, save for Hayley's unmistakable vocals, they might not even recognize it as their favorite... band. That's how completely Paramore transformed over the course of a decade, growing into an adventurous, genre-defying pop band. Hayley Williams smooth vocals over the most beautiful retro pop rock instrumentals. Fun catchy guitar hooks from Taylor York, poppy vibrant tones with... phasers, groovy bassline, and groovy drum beats from Zac Farro. What more can you ask for. After Laughter touches on depression, anxiety, divorce, perception, and more, and it forms one of the most dark and depressing albums full of the happiest instrumentals. I didn't think much of the album at first, yeah I liked it but a year later, I started to love it. I fell into depression and this album was there to make me feel less alone to this day, is one of the reasons why I love music so much and represents what I aim to do as a musician one day. During one of the darkest times in my life, this album gave me the words to explain the feelings I couldn't. And I think there's no greater connection than that. show more
