This album was far ahead of its time—perhaps one of the first pop records inspired by Kanye West's production. Standouts like 'Team,' 'A World Alone,' and 'Ribs' portray a precocious teen at the center of the 21st-century postmodern breakdown. Lorde seeks respite in her lover's arms, on nights out painting the town red, and on the dance floor, living for the nights she'll probably never remember.
